Linux Systems Engineer (Remote)

Here’s how you can be a key player on our team:
  • Maintain 99.999% uptime across all client systems
  • Set up virtual servers, secure certs and related elements required to establish new client systems
  • Manage system security and intrusion detection
  • Conduct system upgrades and patch management
  • Develop and deploy tools to deliver a more automated release cycle
  • Consult with the Chief Technology Officer and development/product team on improving internal development team practices for managing code repositories and quality control
  • Communicate with clients, as needed, to provide timely responses to emergent issues, assist them in integrating Leo with their internal systems, and help them manage any internal hosting environment challenges
  • Work well within a team of developers, product managers and customer service agents
  • Collaborate effectively and share knowledge with others on the team
  • Bring a flexibility and willingness to take on other duties as assigned

What it takes:
  • 3-5+ years progressive experience administering and optimizing RHEL servers in an enterprise environment
  • Strong background in Linux - FTP, SFTP, rsync, bash scripting, cron jobs, and configuring Apache
  • Proven experience with AWS products and services
  • Creating detailed documentation of all procedures and requirements
  • Being an effective presenter, listener and problem solver
  • Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, Gitlab and/or Docker a plus
  • Willingness to learn and explore new technologies
  • On-call rotation

This is a remote position, although we prefer that candidates be based in or near the Triangle area of NC.
