DaVinci Education Statement

These extraordinary times call for more than business as usual. And while we are rising to the challenge, at first we weren’t sure whether or not we should share that story. We questioned where or how a company like ours could share a meaningful statement that would make a difference. However, we could not stay silent.

We stand with the AMA, AAMC and other leading healthcare organizations speaking out against racism and police brutality. We stand with the Black Lives Matter movement and the protesters demanding justice and change. We stand with the students and educators working to end systemic racism and discrimination in medicine and medical education. 

Even though statements are important, they are not enough. Action must follow for meaningful and sustainable change to happen. DaVinci Education is dedicated to doing the work necessary to foster and support diversity, equity and inclusion - in our company and in our relationships with business partners. 

In the short term, we are focusing efforts on ensuring our work environment reflects our values of inclusivity and support. To date, we have:

  • provided resources to our team in support of education, advocacy and engagement for racial equity, including guidance on safely participating in protests.
  • scheduled several open dialogue sessions throughout the next few weeks to encourage discussion and conversation across the team. 
  • created multiple avenues for the team to submit feedback and ideas on how to improve our work environment to better support diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • begun an internal review of all policies in order to make necessary modifications.
  • undertaken an audit for any non-inclusive terminology within the product. 
  • signed up to participate in edtech and medical education focused conversations and training sessions on action steps for supporting racial justice and broader DEI efforts. 

For the long term, we are committed to: 

  • reviewing and revising our recruitment strategies to further expand diversity in our applicant pool. 
  • continuing to seek out professional development and listening opportunities so we can keep learning and growing while supporting the communities we serve.
  • exploring opportunities to increase our support of our team through a variety of ways.
  • participating in conversations about how our company and product can play a role in social justice and DEI efforts.

While there is much about DaVinci and our team that we are proud of, we recognize that there is still work to be done and that the actions above are just a start. We are committed to being part of the change.
